Epson Enters Indian Manufacturing Arena with Chennai Plant.

Japanese electronics giant Seiko Epson Corporation has made its inaugural manufacturing investment in India, establishing its first ink tank printer manufacturing facility in Chennai. This strategic move marks a significant step for Epson in the Indian market.

The new plant, a collaboration with manufacturing partner Rikun, is located at Sipcot Industrial Park in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. Operations are slated to begin in October.

Initially, the facility will focus on producing Epson’s flagship EcoTank printers. These models are known for their high-capacity, cartridge-free printing solutions, a popular choice among consumers. The company plans to start with a production capacity of 20,000 printers per month, with intentions to expand both the volume and diversity of products manufactured at the plant in the future.
