German speciality chemicals company Evonik has expanded its presence in India with the opening of a new office and a research and development (R&D) centre in Thane, Maharashtra. The new facility spans an area of 1,00,000 square feet.
Vinod Paremal, President and Managing Director of Evonik India, remarked that the new office will promote greater collaboration among team members and improve the company's ability to meet the evolving needs of customers and partners. "We believe that our new office will not only facilitate greater collaboration and synergy among our team members, but will also enable us to better meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners," he said in a statement.
The new office serves as a hub for Evonik's operations in India, offering an environment designed to foster collaboration, innovation, and growth. The Evonik India Research Hub (EIRH) will play a key role in developing new products and technologies to meet the specific demands of the Indian market. Additionally, it will act as a global support centre for formulation development in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and the food industry.
With the opening of EIRH, Evonik aims to create more job opportunities, particularly for its new lab and related operations. The company currently employs around 850 people across its three entities in India.
This expansion demonstrates Evonik's commitment to strengthening its footprint in India and its ongoing efforts to support innovation and growth in the speciality chemicals sector. The new office and R&D centre in Thane are expected to drive further development of products and technologies, ultimately benefiting Indian customers and contributing to the company's global strategy.
