Exide Eyes ₹20,000 Crore Revenue from Lead-Acid Batteries in 2-3 Years.

Storage battery major Exide Industries is setting an ambitious target to significantly increase its revenue from the lead-acid battery business, aiming to reach approximately ₹20,000 crore within the next two to three years. The company's Managing Director and CEO, Avik Roy, announced the plan on Tuesday, citing a strong outlook for the sector.

Currently, Exide's revenue from its lead-acid battery segment stands at around ₹16,500 crore, as recorded at the end of the last financial year. The projected increase represents a substantial growth the company expects to achieve in the near to medium term.

"We are aiming at raising the company’s revenue from lead acid business to ₹20,000 crore in the next two to three years," Roy told reporters.

The statement underscores Exide's continued focus and confidence in the growth potential of its traditional lead-acid battery operations, alongside its ventures into new energy technologies like lithium-ion.
