Fillip to development work in Karimnagar town.
Cutting across party lines, local municipal corporators felicitated Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar, after being assured of a record sanction of ₹147.23 crore, for taking up various developmental works in all the 50 municipal divisions. Incidentally, the amount was in addition to ₹100 crore that was already sanctioned by the State government during the budget allocation.
Talking to newsmen, the legislator said the State government had issued orders – GO Rt no 766 dated December 7, 2017 – sanctioning ₹147.23 crore. He thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, Ministers K. Taraka Rama Rao and Eatala Rajender and Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar for sanctioning such a huge amount.
He said he had fulfilled his promise of providing road facilities to all the localities in the town. Funds were allocated to all the municipal divisions, including the divisions represented by the Congress, and other opposition parties. He promised to complete all the road works in the town, tentatively by April 2018.
He would launch the ‘basthi baata’ programme in January or February 2019 to take up any leftover developmental works in Karimnagar town.
He also said that the Chief Minister had also inquired about the progress of Manair river front (MRF). The detailed project report (DPR) for the project would be prepared very soon.
