Finance Ministry seeks details on coal availability for power sector.

The finance ministry has sought information from power and coal ministries on fuel availability for existing and future power plants, a move aimed at facilitating banks in lending to the stressed sectors.

The idea is to provide banks information about existing and future projects, so that they can evaluate the risks properly before taking further exposure, a finance ministry official said.
