First Phase of Compensation Distribution Starts for Vadhvan Highway Project.

The distribution of land acquisition compensation for the Vadhavan Port Greenfield Highway Project has begun, officials said recently.

A meeting on the process was chaired by District Collector Dr Indu Rani Jakhar. The compensation amounts will be directly credited to the bank accounts of landowners, who have been asked to submit updated 7/12 extracts and mutation records.

For cases where mutation entries are pending, village revenue officers have been instructed to complete them as a priority. Special camps will also be organized at Talathi offices and Gram Panchayat offices to facilitate the process, Jakhar added.

The Collector advised landowners not to spend the compensation hastily and to consider safe investment options such as new land, bank fixed deposits, or post office savings schemes. She also cautioned against cyber fraud, urging landowners not to share OTPs or bank details with anyone. Banks and the police have been directed to conduct awareness campaigns to prevent such risks.

Jakhar further appealed to landowners to avoid intermediaries, including middlemen, agents, or brokers, and to directly approach the Competent Authority or Talathi offices for all formalities related to the compensation process.
