Four-lane road inaugurated in TN
Hyderabad: Maytas Infra announced the inauguration of the Padalur–Samayapuram four-lane road on NH-45 in Tamil Nadu, developed at a cost of Rs 190 crore.
The Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, Mr T.R. Baalu, dedicated the 21-km-long segment of the Padalur-Tiruchi four-laning project on National Highway 45 at a function held at Samayapuram recently.
The Padalur-Samayapuram segment has been upgraded with divided carriageway along with strengthening of the existing carriageway.
One major bridge across Uppar river, a minor bridge, and 21 culverts comprise the road stretch.
Maytas would be constructing the Rs 190-crore complete 4-lane road from the existing two-lane section from Km 285 (Padalur) to Km 325 (Tiruchi) on NH-45.
The work includes 4-lane road carriageway with flexible pavement, widening and strengthening of the existing 2 carriageway, improvement of road junctions and construction of toll plaza.
The Director and President — Transportation, Oil & Gas, Maytas, Mr Chander Sheel Bansal, in a statement said: “This highway will be of great utility bringing about greater safety and a great commuting experience.
The NH-45 connects Chennai and Dindigul via Tiruchi linking Nagapattinam and Tuticorin ports.
