Freyr Energy Reveals Ambitious Initiative to Equip 2,000 Kerala Households with Solar Panels

Freyr Energy, a prominent player in rooftop solar solutions across 27 states, is extending its reach to Kerala, unveiling plans to install solar panels in 2,000 households within the next year.

This move aligns with the vision of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) to integrate solar power into 800 homes by the close of 2023. By the end of the preceding year, the Board had successfully implemented solar panels in 400 homes across the coastal state.

Freyr Energy, known for its efficient and cost-effective solar systems, seamlessly integrates technology and consumer financing, offering up to 5-year loans. This approach empowers retail customers to transition effortlessly to solar power, reducing electricity bills and contributing to climate change mitigation in the picturesque state known as 'God’s Own Country.' The installations are tailor-made to suit the specific requirements of individual homes or housing societies.

To facilitate this process, homeowners can utilize the SunPro+ app, available on both iOS and Android app stores. The app allows users to instantly access pricing and financing options, initiating their solar journey. This innovative platform establishes a direct connection between customers and Freyr's in-house solar experts, streamlining the entire process from customized quotes to order placement and the ongoing performance monitoring of solar systems.

Radhika Choudhary, Co-founder of Freyr Energy, expressed confidence in the Kerala market, stating, "With the increasing electricity rates over the years, now home and business owners can protect their monthly expenditure by a one-time investment in owning a solar system. We are confident about Kerala’s market opportunity and are well positioned to make a substantial impact."

The Power System Statistics Report 2022-23 released by KSEB highlights a three-fold increase in renewable energy production in Kerala over the last decade. In the last fiscal year, Kerala's net solar production reached 856.63 million units (MU). A recent survey indicates that the current demand for electricity in Kerala has surpassed 100 million units, signaling a growing need for sustainable energy solutions.
