Gadkari Assures Solution for Vizhinjam Port Road Issue Within 10 Days.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has assured Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor that the uncertainty surrounding the construction of the road connecting Vizhinjam International Seaport to NH66 will be resolved within the next 10 days. Gadkari made the commitment in response to Tharoor’s concerns raised in the Lok Sabha.
Tharoor emphasized the urgency of the project, highlighting that the port is scheduled for inauguration next month. "For the port to reach its full potential, it is essential to establish a road connection to NH66. Without reliable road and rail links for container movement, the port’s capacity cannot be fully utilized," Tharoor stated.
In his reply, Gadkari agreed with the importance of the road construction and revealed that discussions with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had been held in recent days. A solution to the issue will be reached within 10 days, he assured.
Tharoor thanked the Union Minister for his positive approach toward resolving the matter and reiterated his commitment to closely monitor progress on connecting Vizhinjam with essential rail and road networks, taking necessary actions as needed.
