GAIL Announces ₹3,800 Crore Investment in 700 MW Solar Projects Across Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
State-owned GAIL (India) Limited recently announced an investment of ₹3,800 crore to develop 700 MW of solar power capacity across Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, advancing its clean energy transition and net-zero ambitions.
In a statement, the company said it will set up a 600-MW solar project integrated with a 550-MWh battery energy storage system at the TUSCO Solar Park in Jhansi. The project is primarily aimed at meeting the captive power requirements of its petrochemical complex at Pata.
Additionally, GAIL will develop a 100-MW solar power project with a 22-MWh energy storage system in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. This facility will supply power to its PDH-PP plant located in Raigad.
