Balmer Lawrie Targets ₹3,000 Crore Revenue by FY26, Eyes ₹6,000 Crore by 2030.

Diversified public sector undertaking Balmer Lawrie & Co is setting ambitious targets, aiming for approximately 20% year-on-year revenue growth to reach ₹3,000 crore for the current fiscal year. This optimistic outlook is largely driven by the expected surge in its logistics business, which the company anticipates will become its largest revenue contributor. Looking further ahead, Balmer Lawrie has set a long-term goal of achieving ₹6,000 crore in revenue by 2030.

A significant part of this growth strategy for the logistics segment involves venturing into two new areas: rail logistics and third-party logistics (3PL).

"We are going to foray into rail logistics, and our first rake should be getting commissioned this month itself," Balmer Lawrie & Co Chairman and Managing Director Adhip Nath Palchaudhuri informed reporters on Wednesday. "We will start carrying cargo for customers from the eastern part of the country to the northern part of the country. In this case, we have taken the rakes on lease from an American company. Depending on the nature of success, we will definitely look at the possibility of buying our own rakes. We already have an MoU with Braithwaite, so it is not impossible that we buy our own rakes."

This move into rail logistics signifies a strategic diversification for Balmer Lawrie, leveraging existing infrastructure and exploring new avenues to enhance its service offerings and capture a larger share of the burgeoning Indian logistics market.
