GAIL plans to build CNG corridors
New Delhi: GAIL (India) will invest Rs. 20,000 crore in the next four years in building new pipelines across the country, company Chairman U. D. Choubey announced plans to build ‘CNG corridors’ along the national highways and focus on the city gas distribution network in the next few years to provide a pollution free environment.
Addressing the annual general meeting of the company, Mr. Choubey said GAIL would double its Pata petrochemical plant’s capacity to eight lakh tonnes in the next few years as part of plans to make it big in the chemical business.
The Pata plant in Uttar Pradesh currently has a capacity of 410,000 tons.
