Gas project inaugurated in Lakki Marwat

Peshawar: Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Salim Saifullah Khan on Wednesday inaugurated gas distribution project in his native district Lakki Marwat. The project would cost Rs 40 million as nine kilometre gas pipeline, laid from village Kilan to Lakki City.

Addressing a function, the minister said provision of natural gas to Lakki Distict was on top priority of the government. He lamented that the previous MMA government did nothing for the welfare and uplift of backward Lakki district during its five years tenure.

The MMA government deliberately ignored development of Lakki Marwat District, he said adding the elected representatives from the area in the previous assembly also did nothing for its development.

Salim Saifullah Khan also announced gas projects for Sarai Naurang, Pezzu, Ghazni Khel, Tittar Khel, Tajazai, Shahbaz Khel areas of the district and added that Rs 50 million gas supply project for tehsil Sarai Naurang would be launched shortly. He said, provision of gas, electricity to every house in Lakki District was government's top priority and would leave no stone unturned in this regard.

Various mega projects are underway in the district to improve socio-economic, he said, and added that it included Kurram Tangi dam, Gandi Khankhel-DIKhan road project, construction of grid stations, establishment of Cadet College etc. He urged the people not to be misled by the propaganda of the opponents and vote for the honest and dedicated people in the upcoming general elections.
