"Gensol-Matrix Consortium Secures 237 MW Bid for Hydrogen Electrolyser Plant"

Ahmedabad-based Gensol Engineering Limited, in partnership with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd., announced that their consortium has won a bid for a 237 MW annual capacity under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme to establish an electrolyser manufacturing plant.

The bid, issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), was awarded to the Gensol-Matrix consortium, which has now secured a cumulative 300 MW capacity, including a prior 63 MW awarded in the first tranche of the SECI tender. This total capacity equates to an incentive of ₹450 crore under the PLI scheme, according to an official release.

Anmol Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol Engineering Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the win, stating, “Securing this PLI capacity under the National Green Hydrogen Mission is a testament to our commitment and technical capabilities. It not only strengthens our position in the green hydrogen sector but also opens up new avenues for growth and collaboration in renewable energy.”

Gensol and Matrix, promoted by common stakeholders, plan to continue their collaboration in the Green Hydrogen space and its derivatives, including Green Steel and Green Ammonia, leveraging the expertise of each entity, the release added.
