Godrej Interio Plans Expansion with New Stores in South India.

Godrej Interio, a leading furniture brand in India, is ramping up its presence in South India, aiming to increase its revenue share from the region. Last year, the southern market contributed ₹180 crore, or 5% of the company’s ₹3,200 crore turnover. “We want to grow this significantly by opening more stores in the region,” said Dev Sarkar, Senior Vice-President and Head of Consumer Business (B2C) at Godrej Interio, during a press conference.

Sarkar highlighted that the organised furniture market in India remains small, with a total market size of ₹1.40 lakh crore, of which only ₹8,000 crore is in the organised sector. "We're encouraging more players to enter the organised space," he added.

The company is accelerating its store expansion, opening at least two stores per week since May 2023, and recently surpassing the 1,000-store milestone. Godrej Interio plans to open 25 new showrooms and 150 retail outlets in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next three years.

With the upcoming festival season, the company expects a sales boost, targeting 30-35% of total revenue from the southern market. Sarkar also revealed plans to increase Godrej Interio's market share in Telangana from 21% to 30% by 2027. As part of its festive offer, customers can avail discounts of up to 35% and a chance to win free furniture.

Godrej Interio operates seven manufacturing facilities across Mumbai, Khalapur, Haridwar, Shirwal, and Bhagwanpur.
