Golf course project to take off in Jaipur soon.
City's long-pending projects, including the ambitious golf course on Delhi road is expected to gain momentum after the chief minister Vasundra Raje directed officials to complete them on time.
In a urban department and housing (UDH) review meeting on Wednesday, Raje has directed to resolve the issues of Privthi Raj Nagar (PRN) and Ring Road project soon and complete it on stipulated time. Other than this, directions were made to appoint consultant for the Amanishah Nullah and golf course in order to initiate the project.
Official said, the JDA has recently earmarked a land to develop an 18-hole golf course on the outskirts of the city. The decision also received approval in the Projects and Works Committee (PWC) meeting. 'We have informed the chief minister that a consultant has been appointed to prepare the detailed project report. The tender for constructing the project will be started in July.'
It was told, JDA is making effort to develop a golf course of international standard which will include a club house, hotels and swimming pool in it. The land will also be reserved for real estate developers and will be auctioned. Moreover, golf enthusiasts can switch from day to night golf to enjoy their favourite sport and avoid the scorching heat.
Official explained, on this land the JDA has proposed a science city project on 1,000 bigha land. However, the project failed to take off. 'Till date, JDA has allotted land to 4 institutes, out of which the lease deed was issued to only one institute. As there was sufficient land available for developing a golf course, we have taken a portion of science tech project and reserved above 400 bigha land.'
This land identified to develop the golf course also has an ideal topography. 'The land has gently rolling terrain, with moderate changes in elevation. It also has a natural nullah and hill view.' official added
Raje also directed the officials to soon resolve the objections of Heritage Conservation Bill and Town and Country Planning Bill. As state government has announced to construct 7 lakh and 70 thousands toilet, directions were given to plan a draft in this regard.
