Govt Clears 17 Electronics Component Projects Worth ₹7,172 Crore Under Manufacturing Scheme.

The government recently approved 17 projects totaling about ₹7,172 crore in investment across six categories under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), marking a significant push toward boosting India’s high-value electronics production ecosystem.

According to official estimates, the cleared proposals are expected to generate cumulative production worth ₹65,111 crore, reinforcing the country’s ambitions to deepen its electronics supply chain and reduce import dependence.

Announcing the second tranche of approvals, Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw hailed the industry’s role in accelerating India’s emergence as a global electronics hub. “You have shown the way on how India will become a major electronics manufacturing hub,” he said.
