Grand Gandikota Tourism Project Set to Begin with CM Naidu's Foundation Stone Ceremony.

The Andhra Pradesh government is set to embark on an ambitious plan to revitalize its tourism sector and attract significant investments, as outlined by Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh.

On Friday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for the prestigious ₹78 crore Gandikota tourism project in the YSR Kadapa district. The project, a collaboration with the central government under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, aims to transform the historic Gandikota fort into a premier heritage and adventure destination.

The foundation laying ceremony will take place in the afternoon at Gandikota, following the conclusion of a pension distribution program in Jammalamadugu.

High-Profile Summits and Exhibitions

Minister Durgesh announced several other key initiatives to promote Andhra Pradesh as an investment hub:

  • Tourism Exhibition in Udaipur: The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) will host a major tourism exhibition in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on Saturday and Sunday. The event aims to attract young entrepreneurs and industrialists from northern states to invest in Andhra Pradesh's tourism sector.

  • Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam: The state will host a high-profile Partnership Summit on November 14 and 15 in Visakhapatnam. This marks the return of major investment conclaves under the new TDP-led administration, which hopes to attract multi-sectoral investments. A cabinet sub-committee, chaired by Minister Nara Lokesh, has been formed to oversee the preparations.

A New Era of Investment

Minister Durgesh drew a contrast between the current and previous administrations, stating that the former YSRCP government lacked a consistent policy for promoting investment and tourism. He affirmed that the new government, led by Chief Minister Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, is committed to creating an investor-friendly environment.

He recalled that during Naidu's previous tenure, similar partnership summits were highly successful, drawing substantial investments from eager entrepreneurs. This time, the government is confident that its proactive approach will once again attract significant domestic and international capital, with a special focus on the infrastructure, hospitality, and tourism sectors.
