GS1 India Strengthens Tech Presence with Chennai Centre Expansion.

GS1 India recently inaugurated its expanded Chennai Development Centre, marking a step forward in its efforts to support Indian exporters in adopting global bar-coding standards.

The upgraded facility, which was originally launched in 2023, is expected to accelerate innovation in areas such as 2D barcode migration, traceability and AI-powered supply chain solutions. The expansion reflects the organisation’s growing focus on strengthening digital infrastructure for more efficient and transparent supply chains.

According to the company, the centre will play a key role in the large-scale deployment of its flagship platforms, including DataKart, the Smart Consumer App, the ClickIt app and a range of traceability solutions. These tools are designed to enhance product visibility, improve data accuracy and enable seamless information sharing across supply chains.

With the expanded centre, GS1 India aims to further support businesses in meeting global standards while driving innovation in supply chain technologies.
