GT Bharathi Gets WTC Licence, Eyes ₹7,000-Crore Integrated Township on OMR.
Real estate developer GT Bharathi has secured a licence from the World Trade Centers Association to develop a World Trade Center business in Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu, the company said in a release.
The agreement places GT Bharathi among the global network of more than 300 World Trade Center businesses across nearly 100 countries and territories. The company will be one of the major developers to operate under the WTC brand in South India, it said.
Bengaluru-based Brigade Group has previously developed a World Trade Center in Chennai.
GT Bharathi plans to make the proposed WTC the centrepiece of an integrated, IT-focused mixed-use township spread across approximately 150 acres. The project has an estimated development value of around ₹7,000 crore.
At full build-out, the development is expected to generate more than 1 lakh jobs, positioning it as a potential driver of employment and economic activity in the region, the company said.
