Gujarat Aims to Become IT Hub with ₹7,000 Cr Investment in ‘Million Minds’ Tech City.
Gujarat is solidifying its position as a major IT and ITES hub in India with the launch of the ambitious ‘Million Minds’ Tech City in Ahmedabad. The project, spanning 18 million square feet (msft) and developed on a 65-acre site, carries an investment of ₹6,000–7,000 crore.
The development is being executed in phases, with the first phase already completed, delivering 1.4 msft of ready-to-use infrastructure.
Viren Mehta, President of Sales and Marketing at Ganesh Housing Corporation Limited, discussed the project during the second roadshow for Gujarat’s IT/ITES Policy 2022-27 in Bengaluru. He noted that the policy had successfully attracted interest from over 200 leading IT and ITES companies. Mehta also highlighted Ganesh Housing’s collaboration with the government to build infrastructure that supports the sector's growth.
Regarding investments, Mehta mentioned that the Tech City had secured nearly ₹900 crore, with ₹200 crore of this coming from telecom and financial institutions. In addition to IT firms, service industries have also expressed interest in the development.
Anmol Patel, Director of Ganesh Housing Corporation Limited, emphasized the vision for the Tech City, saying, “It’s not just about developing another township, but creating a thriving ecosystem—where innovation, luxury, and community come together. The city will feature six state-of-the-art tech parks, high-end residences, co-living spaces, a premium hotel, and expansive shopping malls.”
The event also featured speeches from Mona Khandhar, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, and Tushar Y Bhatt, IAS, Managing Director of Gujarat Informatics, along with other industry leaders and senior government officials.
