Harley-Davidson launch Indian operations
New Delhi: American motorcycle manufacturer, Harley-Davidson has launched its Indian operation.
The firm will import 12-15 models, representing each of its family of bikes as completely built units from the US.
The first few dealerships in India will open by the first half of 2010 and will be initially located at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyundai Chandigarh and Ludhiana.
The Harley-Davidson bikes start at 883 cc going up to 1550cc. The starting price of the bike is about US$14,000 (about Rs 7 lakh) in the first half of next year.
