Netherlands to upgrade port projects in Bengal

Kolkata: The Netherlands has expressed interest in upgrading and developing ports and airports in West Bengal.

Speaking at an interactive session organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata on Monday, Bob Hiensch, ambassador of Netherlands to India, said, his country could provide valuable inputs in designing and maintaining ports and airports in the state.

Recently, Hiensch also met Nirupam Sen, industries and commerce minister of West Bengal, in this regard.

Also, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines of the Netherlands was contemplating direct connectivity with Bangalore, to meet the requirements of the IT sector.
