HDC completes 45% of housing projects in Male
Male: Hulhumale’ Development Corporation (HDC) has revealed that 45% of the 500 housing units under construction are completed. HDC says 500 housing units are intended to ease housing difficulties faced in Male’.
HDC informed that considering the present rate of progress and the project would be completed as per schedule by end of December this year. HDC informed that the 504 housing units constructed under the project will be developed in 63 separate blocks.
HDC further informed that foundation of all housing units carried out under phase one phase two of the project is already completed and that the concrete work of 52 buildings are already completed.
In addition HDC said 72 of the concrete work of the entire project were completed and 50 % of all masonry work is completed as well. Further roofing work of 7 buildings are also completed HDC said.
HDC revealed that plastering work on 10 buildings are going on electric wiring on 23 buildings has been completed. HDC also revealed that tiling and painting of the some buildings are next on the scheduled.
The contractor of the US $ 17,898,225.25 project is Aima Construction says HDC. The contract was awarded to Aima Construction on 26 June 2007. According to HDC estimated duration of the project is 17 months and the project is due to completed by December 17 2008.
