Hindustan Zinc Board Approves ₹3,823 Crore Tailings Plant for 10 MTPA Reprocessing.

Hindustan Zinc Ltd, a Vedanta group company, announced on Monday that its Board of Directors has approved a plan to establish a 10 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) tailings reprocessing plant. The project, which marks a significant step in the company's expansion strategy, will involve an investment of up to ₹3,823 crore.

The new unit is set to be India's first zinc tailings reprocessing plant. It will be located at Rampura Agucha in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district.

The project is expected to be completed within 28 months and is part of Hindustan Zinc's broader plan to double its production capacity.
