Honda Accelerates Product Push, Announces 10 New Cars by 2030.

Honda Cars India recently said it plans to introduce a range of sedans and sports utility vehicles (SUVs), including compact SUVs, with multiple powertrain options such as flex-fuel and electric vehicles (EVs), in line with evolving market demand.

The company aims to launch 10 new products by 2030, with six models scheduled for introduction during the current financial year, senior company officials said. However, the automaker clarified that it has no plans to re-enter the hatchback segment in India. Its compact sedan, the Honda Amaze, will continue to serve as the entry-level offering in its portfolio.

“We are looking at all the possibilities for the future... we always consider all options. For us, the small car is the Amaze, and now we are also looking at a sub-4-metre SUV for the Indian market. Our first priority has always been the domestic market and exports come as a secondary,” said Takashi Nakajima.

The move comes as automakers increasingly focus on expanding their SUV line-up and introducing alternative fuel technologies to cater to changing consumer preferences and stricter emission norms in India.
