"Iconic Signature Bridge Nears Completion: Awaits 99% Ready Status and Pending Completion Certificate"
The much-anticipated Signature Bridge, linking Okha and Beyt Dwarka, is on the verge of completion, with nearly 99% of the construction work already accomplished. The bridge, spanning 2,320 meters and costing Rs 978 crore, is set to enhance connectivity and ease travel for devotees visiting Beyt Dwarka.
Despite the successful completion of load testing, the awaited finishing touches and the acquisition of the official completion certificate are the final steps before the bridge is officially opened. The four-lane bridge, boasting a width of 27.20 meters, utilized innovative methods, such as constructing 38 pillars at sea using Hawk Cranes.
The opening of the Signature Bridge is expected to be a significant development for the Devbhumi Dwarka district, simplifying pilgrimage journeys for the approximately 40 lakh devotees who visit the region annually. With Beyt Dwarka considered an integral part of the pilgrimage, the bridge's completion is eagerly anticipated, offering a safer and more accessible alternative to the current boat services, which often face disruptions due to adverse weather conditions.
A.M. Sharma, the District Collector of Devbhumi Dwarka, expressed confidence in the project's imminent completion, noting that the bridge's dedication to the nation is expected shortly. The increased accessibility provided by the bridge is poised to not only benefit pilgrims but also boost tourism in the region."
