Tamil Nadu releases Toy Manufacturing Policy to attract new investments in this niche sector

Tamil Nadu recently launched its Toy Manufacturing Policy 2025 to attract new investments and encourage domestic players to diversify into the niche sector. The policy, unveiled by Chief Minister MK Stalin at the Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave in Madurai, aims to position the state as a hub for high-end toy manufacturing, including electromechanical toys.

Under the policy, the toy manufacturing industry will be classified as a sunrise sector under TNIP 2021, making it eligible for Special Incentives for Sunrise Sectors. New or expansion projects with investments exceeding ₹50 crore and creating at least 50 jobs will qualify for the incentive package, provided the commitments are met within the standard investment period of three years.

The policy also includes subsidies for training and designer development to strengthen skills and innovation within the sector.
