India's First Green Cargo Ship, Built by Udupi Cochin Shipyard, Heads to Norway

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), Karnataka, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), achieved a significant milestone recently with the delivery of the first of six 3800 DWT dry cargo vessels to M/s. Wilson Ship Management AS, Norway, Europe's largest short sea shipping company. The handover ceremony took place at the New Mangalore Port.



Dr. Sushma Akkaraju, spouse of Dr. Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, Chairman of the New Mangalore Port Authority, formally christened the new vessel during the ceremony, which was attended by the Chairman and senior officers of the New Mangalore Port Authority. Senior representatives from M/s Wilson Ship Management AS, Norway, including Mr. Einar Torsnes (Chief Financial Officer) and Mr. Sergey Bogdashov (New Build Superintendent), along with the Wilson site team, were present. Also in attendance were Shri. Harikumar A (CEO, UCSL) and members of the Udupi CSL team, Shri. Sivaram N Swamy (General Manager - Business Development, CSL), and Mr. Eric Veith (Bureau Veritas).
