J Kumar Infraprojects Surges 10% as Company Secures Contract for Corridor Construction Between Saidapet and Teynampet on Anna Salai

Mumbai-based J Kumar Infraprojects Ltd.  has clinched a significant contract to construct a 3.2 km elevated corridor from Teynampet to Saidapet on Anna Salai, one of Chennai's bustling arterial roads. The ₹582-crore order was awarded by the Tamil Nadu government to alleviate traffic congestion on the Grand Southern Trunk Road.

The four-lane elevated corridor project, valued at ₹582 crore, will be executed in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode and is expected to be completed within 24 months, according to an official notification submitted by the company to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

State Highways Minister EV Velu had previously announced in April, during a Legislative Assembly session, the plan to construct an elevated corridor to address the increasing congestion issues on Anna Salai, a route traversed by over two lakh motorists daily.

The elevated corridor will facilitate smoother traffic flow, allowing motorists to navigate key junctions at Eldams Road, SIET College, Cenotaph Road, Nandanam, CIT Nagar Third and First Main Road, and Todd Hunter Nagar–Jones Road. The project has also received approval from the Chennai Metro Rail Ltd, marking a significant step towards its realization.
