"Jakson Green Announces Plans for Green Ammonia Plant at Deendayal Port"

In a groundbreaking development, Jakson Green announced on Thursday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Deendayal Port Authority to establish a state-of-the-art green ammonia facility with an estimated value of Rs. 2,400 crore.

This eco-friendly facility, to be strategically located at Kandla Port in Gujarat, is set to be developed in multiple phases, boasting a projected annual production capacity of 133,000 tonnes of green ammonia, as stated in the official press release.

Krishnan Kannan, the joint managing director of Jakson Green, emphasized the pivotal role of green ammonia in their sustainable energy vision, remarking, "Green ammonia stands at the core of our sustainable energy vision, and our facility represents a significant stride in reducing greenhouse gas emissions within the maritime industry."

In support of this ambitious project, the Deendayal Port Authority will play a key role in assisting Jakson Green in securing the necessary registrations, approvals, clearances, and providing various incentives, among other forms of support.

The signing of the MoU took place during the Global Maritime India Summit, 2023, with a central focus on the maritime industry's substantial contribution to greenhouse gas emissions. The summit underscored the potential for renewable energy to play a vital role in the sector's efforts to decarbonize and transition to more sustainable practices.

Jakson Green's investment in the green ammonia plant represents a significant step towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future within the maritime industry, marking a positive contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
