"JK Cement announces the successful commissioning of an additional 2 MTPA grinding capacity at its plants in Panna and Hamirpur."
JK Cement recently announced the commissioning of an additional 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of cement grinding capacity at its plants in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, raising its total grey cement capacity to 28.26 MTPA.
The company said it added 1 MTPA each at its Panna and Hamirpur units on January 16, increasing capacity at both locations from 2 MTPA to 3 MTPA.
This expansion is part of JK Cement’s 6 MTPA capacity addition plan, approved by its board in January 2024. The plan includes a brownfield expansion of clinker capacity by 3.3 MTPA and cement grinding capacity by 3 MTPA across Panna, Hamirpur, and Prayagraj, with 1 MTPA at each site, as well as a greenfield 3 MTPA cement grinding unit in Bihar.
With the commissioning of the new units, JK Cement’s total grey cement production capacity now stands at 28.26 MTPA, including the output of its subsidiary, the company said.
