JSW Energy's Renewable Locked-In Capacity Hits 20 GW.
JSW Energy announced that it has achieved a locked-in renewable energy generation capacity of 20 GW, securing 445 MW of projects in the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment.
The company’s locked-in C&I capacity now stands at 3.1 GW, comprising 2,654 MW for JSW Group captive use and 445 MW for third-party C&I consumers. Its current operational C&I capacity is 488 MW.
In a recent development, JSW Energy’s step-down subsidiaries signed power purchase agreements with DCM Shriram and Indus Towers for renewable power supply, reinforcing its focus on sustainable energy solutions. “As a company specializing in energy products and services, the C&I segment presents exceptional opportunities for a sustainable future,” said Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy.
The company has set a target to achieve 10 GW of operational capacity by FY25. It currently operates 7.7 GW of energy capacity across thermal, hydro, and renewable segments. Additionally, JSW Energy has locked in 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hydro pumped storage projects.
Looking ahead, JSW Energy aims to scale its generation capacity to 20 GW and energy storage capacity to 40 GWh by 2030, underscoring its long-term commitment to clean and sustainable energy.
