Karnataka Aims to Be India's Quantum Hub, Says Minister NS Boseraju.
Karnataka is strategically positioning itself to lead India's quantum computing revolution, capitalizing on its robust presence in key sectors like IT, aerospace, defense, biotech, and healthcare. These industries are anticipated to be early and significant adopters of cutting-edge quantum solutions.
NS Boseraju, Karnataka's Minister of Minor Irrigation and Science & Technology, outlined the state's ambitious initiatives aimed at establishing it as the "Quantum Hub of India." A significant investment of ₹48 crore has been allocated to the Quantum Research Park at IISc, underscoring the commitment to foundational research and development in the field.
Further solidifying this vision, an additional ₹3 crore has been earmarked to host the Quantum India Summit 2025, a major event expected to bring together leading minds and foster collaboration within the quantum ecosystem. Beyond Bengaluru, the state is also planning to establish a second nodal research and training center in North Karnataka, a move designed to broaden the quantum ecosystem's reach and impact across the state.
