Karnataka Declares 1,777 Acres in Devanahalli as Special Agricultural Zone.

The Karnataka government has declared 1,777 acres across 13 villages in Devanahalli taluk as a Permanent Special Agricultural Zone (SAZ), resolving a long-standing dispute between farmers and the state over land initially planned for an Aerospace Park.

Officials clarified that farmers will face no restrictions on land sales, countering recent speculation. With the Aerospace Park project withdrawn, the designation aims to protect agricultural land while providing infrastructure, market access, and policy support to enhance farm-based economic activity.

Dr. S. Selvakumar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Industries, urged farmers not to be swayed by rumours or misleading information.
