Kashmir Now Connected to Kanyakumari by Rail: President Murmu.

President Droupadi Murmu announced recently that Kashmir is now connected to Kanyakumari through a railway line, following the completion of the Udhampur-Baramulla-Srinagar Rail project. In her address to the joint sitting of Parliament, the president highlighted several key achievements of the Railway Ministry.

"The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project has been completed, connecting the nation from Kashmir to Kanyakumari through a railway line," Murmu said.

As part of the ambitious project, the Chenab Bridge has been constructed, which now holds the title of the highest railway bridge in the world. In addition, India’s first rail cable bridge, the Anji Bridge, has also been completed.

The president further noted that 71 Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Namo Bharat trains are currently operational across the country. In the past six months, 17 new Vande Bharat trains and one Namo Bharat train have been added to the national rail network.
