"Kerala Aims to Establish Thiruvananthapuram as a Global Automotive Tech Hub: Minister"

The Kerala government is committed to transforming Thiruvananthapuram into a global hub for automotive technology, according to State Industries Minister P. Rajeeve. Speaking at the inauguration of the new global headquarters and R&D Centre of Acsia Technologies in Technopark Phase III, the Minister emphasized the importance of this vision.

Acsia Technologies, a global leader in automotive software specializing in Digital Cockpits & Displays, e-Mobility, and Telematics, is set to play a significant role in these efforts. The upcoming global automotive conclave in November, to be held in Thiruvananthapuram, will be a key event in advancing the city's status as a technological hub.

Minister Rajeeve highlighted Kerala's achievement in digital literacy and assured that the state will provide the necessary technical training for young people to capitalize on these emerging opportunities. He also launched Acsia Copilot, named ‘Lila,’ a generative AI-based developer assistant designed to automate routine coding tasks, allowing developers to focus on more complex and creative aspects of software development.

Jijimon Chandran, Founder and CEO of Acsia, stated that Thiruvananthapuram is on the brink of becoming a global automotive technology hub. The company, in collaboration with the government and partners like CII Kerala, is committed to positioning the capital city as a world leader in automotive innovation. Establishing this hub is crucial for creating high-quality jobs and driving economic growth throughout the state.

Acsia is dedicated to the ethical implementation of AI and Machine Learning (ML) technologies, ensuring they enhance productivity, efficiency, security, and cost savings across the development cycle. The integration of AI also ensures consistent quality in work products, reducing errors and improving software reliability. “The world’s leading automakers trust Acsia to keep their production programs on track,” Chandran added.

Stefan Juraschek, Former VP R&D at BMW Group and Strategic Advisor to Acsia, praised Kerala’s highly skilled workforce, noting that the state is well-positioned to leverage advancements in automotive technology. BMW Group representatives Christina Hein and German Ferreira also expressed optimism about Kerala’s potential, stating that the journey so far has been fulfilling, and they look forward to future developments.
