Kerala Attracts ₹44,000 Crore Investments in 3.5 Years: Minister.
Kerala has recorded investments worth ₹44,000 crore from domestic entrepreneurs over the past three and a half years, marking a significant milestone in the State's industrial growth, Industries Minister P. Rajeeve announced.
Speaking at a conclave organized by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) ahead of the Invest Kerala Global Summit, the Minister highlighted the State’s trajectory toward becoming an industrial hub. The event focused on entrepreneurs investing between ₹100 and ₹500 crore.
Since 2021, Kerala has seen the establishment of 696 new enterprises with investments exceeding ₹1 crore, including 203 projects with investments of over ₹100 crore, resulting in a cumulative investment of ₹15,925.89 crore in this segment.
During the 2022-23 entrepreneurial year alone, 3,43,083 enterprises were formed, attracting investments of ₹21,299 crore and generating employment for seven lakh people. Notably, 31% of these ventures were led by women entrepreneurs.
Minister Rajeeve credited the progress to streamlined procedures and enhanced transparency, which have created a more business-friendly environment in Kerala. The recently introduced State Industrial Policy 2023 identifies 22 priority sectors poised to attract substantial investments.
APM Mohammed Hanish, Principal Secretary (Industries), highlighted the government’s array of subsidies and incentives designed to support new entrepreneurs, ensuring the State remains an attractive destination for industrial ventures.
The Minister emphasized that diversification and the expansion of large-scale enterprises have further strengthened Kerala’s industrial landscape, signaling robust growth prospects in the years ahead.
