The Kishore Biyani group is going to build a food processing park in West Bengal with an investment Rs. 600 crore, the state industry and commerce minister Amit Mitra said recently.

The unit will be built at Vidyasagar Industrial Park in Kharagpur. The state has alotted 60 acre for this.

The group which owns Big Bazaar retail chain will put in Rs. 150 crore itself and would mobilise the balance Rs. 450 crore from other investors, Mitra told the media at an event organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce recently.

Mitra said that the group will build collection points across the state to collect farm produce for its proposed unit.
