KLA Corporation Announces $400 Million Chennai Facility Expansion Plan.
KLA Corporation, a US-based semiconductor process control company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu to set up a new research and development (R&D) and innovation campus in Chennai.
Under the agreement, KLA will invest up to $400 million (approximately ₹3,600 crore) over the next decade to build the facility, which will focus on advanced research and engineering. The project is expected to create as many as 4,000 jobs over a 10-year period, significantly boosting the region’s semiconductor and technology ecosystem.
Earlier this year, the company inaugurated a ₹300 crore R&D centre in Chennai. The proposed campus will mark an expansion of KLA’s existing presence in the city. Envisioned on a 12-acre site, the development is planned to accommodate up to 1.5 million square feet of built-up space over time, according to the company.
