Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre Announces ₹1,200 Crore Investment in Mauritius, Set for 18-Month Execution.
Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, managed by the Lilavati Kirtilal Mehta Medical Trust, is investing ₹1,200 crore in its first international expansion project in Mauritius, marking a significant global foray for the Mumbai-based healthcare institution.
The project involves setting up a 200-bed hospital along with a medical education facility for 400 students. Construction is already underway on a 10-acre land parcel allotted by the Government of Mauritius, with completion targeted within the next 18 months.
Speaking during a visit to GIFT City, Permanent Trustee Prashant Mehta said the integrated development will combine tertiary healthcare services with medical education infrastructure. He noted that the initiative reflects the trust’s strategy of expanding healthcare delivery while also building academic capacity.
Mehta added that this will be the trust’s first overseas venture and confirmed that the total investment for the project is around ₹1,200 crore.
