"L&T Vyoma has officially commenced construction on a 40 MW AI-ready data center in Navi Mumbai."

Larsen & Toubro Vyoma, the digital infrastructure arm of L&T, has commenced construction of a 40 MW green, AI-ready data centre at Mahape in Navi Mumbai. The facility forms part of a planned 100 MW campus and aligns with the company’s broader strategy to scale more than 200 MW of data centre capacity across India.

The Mahape project strengthens L&T Vyoma’s three-pillar data centre strategy, which includes hyperscale-ready campuses for global cloud service providers, AI-focused infrastructure catering to the growing artificial intelligence ecosystem and sovereign cloud needs, and colocation and Build-to-Suit (BTS) offerings supported by edge and disaster recovery solutions. As part of its national expansion roadmap, the company is targeting over 200 MW of capacity across key markets such as Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Seema Ambastha, Chief Executive of L&T Vyoma, said the company has received clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) for one parcel of land at the site and will seek approvals for a second parcel, a process expected to take six to eight months. The two data centre facilities are planned to be developed roughly a year apart, with the first scheduled for completion by April 2028 and the second by 2029. At present, L&T Vyoma has 34 MW of operational capacity.
