"SAEL has successfully commissioned an 800 MW solar facility within the Khavda Renewable Energy Park."
SAEL Industries Ltd. has commissioned an 800 MW solar power project at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat, taking its total operational renewable energy capacity beyond 2 GWp.
The project has been developed through two wholly owned subsidiaries - SAEL Solar P4 Private Ltd and SAEL Solar P5 Private Ltd - each with an installed capacity of 400 MW (500 MWp). Located near India’s western border, the Khavda Renewable Energy Park is being developed as one of the largest renewable energy complexes in the world.
Power generated from the newly commissioned solar plants will be supplied under 25-year power purchase agreements with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL), ensuring long-term revenue visibility for the company.
According to a company press release, the project uses more than 1.5 million TOPCon bifacial solar modules, with over 60 per cent of the modules assembled at SAEL’s manufacturing facilities in Punjab and Rajasthan.
