Maharashtra govt gave a nod for 660MW super critical power project Maharashtra government plans to invite a global tender for a new 660MW power unit to improve the power situation in the state.

On Wednesday, the state cabinet approved the proposal for setting up a new thermal power unit in Nashik.

The unit, which will be based on super critical coal-fired technology, is estimated to cost Rs 4,390 crore, of which the state government's direct contribution will be Rs 878 crore (20% of the total project cost).
