Master plan for metro rail roads.

Joint teams of the police, metro rail authorities and municipal corporations will be soon formed to survey and capture the road profile and other details to prepare a master plan for improving upcoming metro stations surroundings.

Teams will comprise of area officers concerned to finalise concepts for road re-engineering, access to stations, junction improvements and the likes.

This was decided at a meeting held in Metro Bhavan and attended by Police Commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad – M. Mahender Reddy and C.V. Anand, HMR MD N.V.S. Reddy and other top officials.

Road re-engineering plans at Nagole and Uppal Metro stations taken up as pilot projects were discussed in detail as also the placement of bus bays, auto bays, parking, junction improvement plans, skywalks, etc.

Inputs of local traffic police were taken regarding various infrastructure facilities and avoidance of traffic conflict points to facilitate smooth flow of traffic, informed Mr. N.V.S. Reddy.

Sidewalks for pedestrians, safe and easy access to lifts, escalators and stair cases of stations, placement of street furniture (chairs, benches, dust bins etc.,) bus shelters, bicycles stations, aesthetic designs of station surroundings etc., were deliberated.
