Max Fashion is set to enhance its retail presence in Bengaluru, aiming for a 15-20% expansion over the next 12-18 months. The company currently operates around 42 stores in the city and plans to add 5-6 more locations within the coming year, according to Sumit Chandna, President and Deputy CEO of Max Fashion, Landmark Group.
Chandna highlighted the South as a crucial market for Max Fashion, noting that the region’s traditional shopping habits contribute to a higher number of SKUs compared to other regions. “Being a Bangalore-based company, our expansion in the South has naturally been more aggressive,” he said.
In the southern region, Max Fashion currently operates 71 stores in Karnataka, 74 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, 64 in Kerala, and 68 in Tamil Nadu, including cities such as Trichy, Salem, Pondicherry, Erode, and Coimbatore. Chandna mentioned plans to increase the number of stores in Coimbatore by 3-4 and to expand into 3-4 additional district headquarters in Tamil Nadu.
Chandna emphasized that expansion is vital for growth, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, where Max Fashion already has a strong presence with 18 stores in tier-2 cities and 87 in tier-3 cities in the South.
The company has reported steady single-digit sales growth from its physical stores over the past year, with a focus on integrating its online and offline platforms to sustain future growth. Chandna anticipates this trend will continue, driven by effective integration of its store network with its online offerings.
