Mega food park gets 460 acres at Thotapalli.
The food processing sector in Krishna district received a big boost with the State government issuing an order recently for alienation of 460 acres at Thotapalli village in Agiripalli mandal to the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for establishment of a mega food park.
The market value of it has been fixed at Rs. 6 lakh an acre. The allotment is subject to conditions that the land should be utilised for the stated purpose within three years of issue of alienation orders, APIIC should submit an annual report before March 31 on the progress of utilisation to the District Collector, and water-bodies existing in the land should not be disturbed and allowed to continue their natural course.
The District Collector has been authorised to reclaim the land in the event of non-fulfilment of the conditions.
The land is located at an altitude of above 100 feet and is surrounded by hillocks with bushes, devoid of any water bodies, wood bearing or shade bearing trees.
The village panchayat re cently passed a resolution in favour of alienation of the land, paving the way for necessary steps by the Revenue Department (Chief Commissioner of Land Administration).
This is the single biggest allotment of land for food processing sector in the capital region by the government in recent years.
It is in tune with top priority that the government has attached to food processing industries, which have maximum potential in Krishna, Prakasam, and East and West Godavari districts (KGPG corridor) compared to the other areas.
