Mercedes-Benz India has commenced local production of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS at its manufacturing facility in Pune, marking a major milestone in the company’s manufacturing capabilities in the country. With this development, India becomes the first market outside the United States to locally manufacture the ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

To mark the start of 2026, the company also launched the Mercedes-Maybach GLS ‘Celebration Edition’, priced at ₹4.10 crore. In addition, Mercedes-Benz India introduced the EQS SUV ‘Celebration Edition’, priced at ₹1.34 crore for the five-seater variant and ₹1.48 crore for the seven-seater.

According to a company statement, strong demand for top-end ultra-luxury vehicles in India has driven the decision to localise production. Local manufacturing is expected to reduce delivery timelines and improve customer access to the brand’s highest level of luxury offerings.
