Metro Rail work on Anna Salai to resume soon.

The Chennai Metro Rail work along Anna Salai is all set to resume soon, nearly a year after it came to a grinding halt following the contractors inability to carry out the work.

The new contract to complete underground tunnelling work between Government Estate to AG-DMS has been given to Afcons Infrastructure Limited, sources said.

“It was finalised last week soon after the elections. The tunnelling work has to be finished in 10 months. The work will start in a few weeks as man power has to be organised and the equipment have to be recommissioned,” an official said.
