Micromax arm Bhagwati Products charts ₹1,015-crore electronics manufacturing expansion.
Bhagwati Products Ltd, a subsidiary of Micromax Informatics, plans to invest ₹1,015 crore in display manufacturing and precision moulding, the company said recently.
The company’s projects have been approved by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS).
The proposed investment will target two key areas of electronics component manufacturing — display manufacturing and precision moulding — as the company looks to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities.
“India’s manufacturing journey is now moving beyond assembling finished products. Our ₹1,015-crore investment in display manufacturing and precision moulding — two critical areas where India requires domestic capabilities — is an important step to support the country’s growing electronics manufacturing goal,” Bhagwati Products Co-founder Rahul Sharma said in a statement.
The investment comes as India seeks to deepen its electronics manufacturing ecosystem and reduce dependence on imported components by expanding domestic production capabilities.
